Saving a keepsake.

It started with a family blanket chest made by a WWII vet for his soon-to-be wife in the 1940s. After their parents passed, the box was too large for any of the daughters’ houses and didn’t split 3 ways. I was commissioned to use the walnut from the chest to create three custom trays, one for each daughter. I was also able to create a small keepsake box, sized to hold the original hand-carved plaque in the lid.

It was such an honor to get to create these new keepsakes from a cherished family heirloom.
